Why the location decides the success of your machine

How the Location Check works

The check runs directly in your browser, on your phone as well as on your computer, and is free of charge. You start without signing up:

• Choose the location type: residential area, city centre, train station or petrol station, company and office, gym and club, school and campus or restaurants & bars.
• Answer ten questions: one click per question, around two minutes in total.
• Read your result: your score from 0 to 100, your weak spot and the next sensible steps.

For the detailed evaluation with points per factor, tips on every weak spot and a comparison of up to three locations, you unlock the result with your email address. You can then print the evaluation or save it as a PDF.

These factors are rated by the check

Nine factors add up to exactly 100 points. What counts most is how many people pass the machine every day:

• People per day – up to 20 points
• Visibility – up to 15 points
• Accessibility – up to 12 points: at night and on Sundays, a machine makes the revenue a shop cannot.
• Competition nearby – up to 12 points
• Dwell time of people on site – up to 10 points
• Power supply – up to 8 points
• Weather and ground – up to 8 points
• Security of the location – up to 8 points
• Cost of the spot – up to 7 points

What your result means

From 70 points you have a strong location: the spot has what a machine needs. Now it is worth using your figures to calculate what is left at the end of the month. Between 45 and 69 points the location is workable with some homework – revenue is being left on the table in one or two places, and the tips show you which levers to pull. Below 45 points a machine will struggle; in that case a comparison with an alternative spot helps.
