How much electricity does a machine cost?

Every machine in our range is included – with the performance data from the datasheet and an honest factor for the fact that the compressor, heating and motor don't run continuously.

The figures come from the data sheets of our machines. If yours isn’t listed, choose “Other machine” and enter the wattage from the rating plate.
How many hours a day the machine is connected to the mains. Refrigerated machines run around the clock; at many locations an amusement machine is switched off at night.
Important: Peak power is only drawn while the compressor, heater or motor is actually working. The rest of the time the machine keeps running at its base load. If you want to know exactly, plug in an energy meter for a week.

Calculated approximation. Actual consumption depends on room temperature, door openings and fill level. The last line assumes a €2.00 selling price and 45% gross margin for vending and coffee machines, and €1.00 per game for amusement machines.

Why not simply watts times 24 hours?

Because the figure on the rating plate is the peak value a machine only draws some of the time. A refrigerated snack vending machine runs most of the time on its base load of around 45 watts and only switches the compressor on as needed – which is why we calculate base load plus a proportional share of peak load here instead of rigidly using the rated power. With coffee and candyfloss machines the difference is even bigger: the 3,000 watts only apply for the 40 seconds in which brewing actually takes place. If you want to know exactly, plug an electricity meter between the socket and the machine for a week; it costs under 20 euros and beats any estimate.
